Sam De Vito was a defender and defensive midfielder who played for South Melbourne from 2005-2007. De Vito made his debut for the club in mid 2005 becoming an established member of the squad. He missed the first six matches of the 2006 season before once again cementing his spot in the championship side. Though he had signed a two year contract at the end of the 2006 season[1], and despite playing in 21 matches for South in 2007, De Vito was released by South at the end of 2007[2], signing for Bentleigh in 2008.[3]
