New Zealander Mark Burton had spent much of his career in the lower reaches of German football, before returning to the southern hemisphere in 2000. He played in the 2000 Tynan-Eyre Cup with South Melbourne[1][2], before joining the Auckland Kingz, where he played until the end of the National Soccer League. Burton was also capped 28 times for the All Whites, scoring six goals.[3] Late in his career, he played for Williamstown in the lower reaches of Victorian league system.[4][5]
