Francesco Stella is a winger and attacking midfielder who played for South Melbourne in the Victorian Premier League.

Stella's South Melbourne stint will likely be best remembered for two things. First, his penchant for stepovers; secondly, his signing for Siena in Italy, which netted South a tidy sum in training compensation fees. While at South, Stella most often came off the bench, though in the second half of 2009 he was increasingly used as a starting player.

After leaving South, Stella's career took a peripatetic route, including stints in Scotland with the then bottom division Rangers, in Thailand with Sisaket, and back in Australia with Melbourne Victory, Avondale, and Port Melbourne
