Ndumba Makeche is an Australian/Zambian forward who played with South Melbourne during the latter half of the 2018 season.
Prior to joining South Melbourne, Makeche had spent most of his early career in Western Australia - including a brief stint with Perth Glory - before playing for several Malaysian clubs.[1]
Recruited as part of the solution to the scoring problems caused by Milos Lujic's suspension and mid-season World Cup holiday, Makeche came on as a substitute and scored on debut in a 4-0 rout of Dandenong Thunder.
After scoring in a 3-2 loss at home to Pascoe Vale, Makeche suffered a hamstring injury the following week which saw him miss six games. While he came back late in the season, he was unable to add to his goal tally.
After the end of the 2018 season, Makeche joined Malaysian club Penang.
