Along with Andreas Oliveira and Antonio Naglieri, Djulbic was one of three West Australian players controversially signed by South from Frankston Pines during the 2006 mid-season transfer window. A defender, Djulbic was crucial to South's title run, especially his outstanding efforts in the grand final.
Djulbic was also by far the most successful of the three West Australians in achieving a professional soccer career after his South stint. After impressing at a trial with Perth Glory during 2006, Djulbic was signed by them, but not before playing eleven matches for South in the early part of 2007.
